The OneRail Coalition (OneRail.org) welcomes the nomination of former Mayor Pete Buttigieg to be Secretary of Transportation. He brings a unique perspective on transportation’s vital role in the U.S. economy and the importance of infrastructure as well as a willingness to move in new directions to address the critical issues facing the transportation sector during these unprecedented times and into the future.
We look forward to working with Secretary-designate Buttigieg and the Biden-Harris Administration to advance policies that underscore the benefits of a strong freight and passenger rail system in addressing the climate challenge, providing well-paying jobs, and ensuring safe, efficient transportation of goods and people.
