OneRail applauds the Appropriations Committee for recognizing the critical importance of freight rail, passenger rail and transit as part of the nation’s multimodal transportation system. Balancing demand across all modes is vital for an efficient functioning system. The Fiscal Year 2021 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill provides critical increases in funding to support ongoing operations and capital investments, as well as continued funding for competitive grant programs for rail projects.
Americans continue to rely on the products and mobility that our nation’s rail network provides. The strong funding support from the House bill will help ensure a more resilient and reliable rail system.
